Wines: Miradero-
2001 Miradero Sonoma County / Napa Valley Merlot
The Miradero 2001 Sonoma County / Napa Valley Merlot is a welcoming, focused
blend of rich Sonoma and Napa Valley fruit. Excellent vineyard sources, including
our own Charles Creek Estate Vineyard, have brought forth a wine with a very
smooth, velvety texture. Crafted with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and
Cabernet Franc to emphasize its great depth of character and meticulous balance,
the 2001 Miradero exudes layers of ripe, spicy fruit. While hints of red currants
and blackberries hover on the palate, the Miradero has a long, chocolaty and toasty
finish. When left to breathe, its aroma fills the air with rich, berry fruit. While
nicely spiced tannins allow for immediate consumption, cellaring from four to six
years is also an option. With deep, lovely color, this is a blockbuster Merlot.

Winemaker Notes
The 2001 Miradero Sonoma County / Napa Valley Merlot exhibits silky qualities of
lovely rich textured blackberries, cherries, boysenberries, and light strawberry
suggestions. Vanilla undertones and elegant mouthfeel linger and grow on the
palate, while chocolate and boysenberry round out the finish. This wine is ready to
drink now, or can be aged for several years. With proper cellaring it should
develop nicely in the bottle, and keep its lovely structure well into 2008.
